Eyes to the skies at the Kite & Flight Festival

Mother Nature thoughtfully provided a clear blue backdrop for the Kite & Flight Festival, one of Reunion’s annual events. Held on Sept. 10 this year, the festival is a popular gathering of Reunion residents who love all things airborne, from remote control planes to aerial gymnastics. It was a day to watch and participate. Free kites were given to the first 250 children, and the Academy of Model Aeronautics both demonstrated their planes and also allowed the uninitiated to give ‘em a spin. Other high points, so to speak, were a candy drop from a plane, a photo booth, games, crafts, food trucks, flight simulators, and more.
