Getting Through The Hot August Nights

Why is August the hottest month of the year? It is weird, considering the longest days of sunlight were back in June. But keep in mind that when the sun warms the Earth, it later radiates off heat in the form of electromagnetic radiation at longer wavelengths than absorbed. So all of that resounding heat can take up to 4-6 weeks to make its way off our surface. Science!

So while you’re absorbing the radiated heat waves from June this month at the Reunion Rec Center pool, chill out with these fun events coming up. Remember, this is your last hurrah before school starts in the fall!
