Celebrate Spring with These Denver Events

Spring in Colorado means blooming wildflowers and rushing waterfalls, and it also means that Denverites are shaking off the frost and keeping the spirit alive with fun and memorable events. Of course, the Reunion community offers our own spring activities — including the Spring Youth Soccer League and Spring Flag Football — but once you’ve squared those away, check out a few other recommendations to add to your planner for local springtime fun!
Holidays
Don your greenest hat, say “top o’ the mornin’ to ya,” and attend the annual Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 12 from 9 am-noon. No kids in tow? Grab a late brunch to fill up before you start a traditional St. Patty’s Bar Crawl with your tribe. Join the Community Passover Seder in Lone Tree on March 27, or take your children with special needs to visit with a sensory-friendly Easter Bunny on April 3 at Town Center (Aurora) or Flatirons (Broomfield). Mark your calendars for Mother’s Day (May 8) and Father’s Day (June 20) to celebrate the important parents in your life — and be sure to keep an eye on social media for other events that have yet to be announced.
Homegrown
Colorado’s bountiful harvest fills our senses with the smell of flowers and the taste of fresh, healthy veggies. While many area Farmers’ Markets don’t start up again until June, take note of these exceptions: The Metro Denver Farmers’ Market kicks off with its Spring Merchant Market every weekend in April, Colorado Fresh Market in Cherry Creek blooms as early as May 7, and City Park Farmers Market sprouts on May 14. Your countdown to culinary contentment has begun!
Athletic Adventures
If all works out between players and owners, April 8 will be Opening Day for the Colorado Rockies as the Rox host the Los Angeles Dodgers at the phenomenal Coors Field. This beloved tradition is a Denver must! If baseball isn’t your thing, the Denver Nuggets and defending MVP Nikola Jokic have 12 more home games at Ball Arena through April 7, while footy fans can check out Colorado Rapids soccer with games through October. You can still catch the ends of the seasons for Colorado Avalanche hockey or Colorado Mammoth lacrosse — and if you’ve never seen a rugby match with the Denver Barbarians, you’re in for a rough-and-tumble treat.
High Frequency
Spring means songbirds, especially in the Mile High City’s legendary music scene. As concerts return in full swing after COVID, locals will have a tough time deciding which tickets to grab. Hometown favorite The Lumineers return, joined this summer by hundreds of pop, alt, R&B, and metal artists at dozens of locations throughout the state. Here are just a few suggestions at three popular Denver-area venues.
- Ball Arena: Dua Lipa with Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish, New Kids on the Block with Salt n Pepa, Rick Astley, and En Vogue.
