Host a Neighborhood Barbeque
Few gatherings say “summer” like a BBQ cookout. You’ve likely been making the most of grill season out on your patio over the past few months, so use Labor Day as a final farewell! Invite friends and neighbors to your yard for a memorable feast filled with all your favorites, like burgers, hot dogs, and ribs — but don’t forget summer veggies like corn-on-the-cob and zucchini! Attend Denver Meet in the Street
September 4 – 6 marks the final Denver Meet in the Street of the year. Head to the 16th Street Mall in Downtown Denver with your family for an energetic festival that includes spinning chairs, live music, and games for all ages. While you’re in the area, experience patio dining and fare from local vendors for a sumptuous lunch or a tasty on-the-go snack. With downtown Denver only a 30-minute drive from your Reunion home, you can attend Meet in the Street for a few hours or turn the trip into a day-long outing in the big city.
Create Crafts at Home
Looking for a break from the sun by spending time indoors? Create an autumn craft as a hands-on activity that gets the whole family involved! Pull out some construction paper and cut it into strips to make paper pumpkins with your kids — they’ll add a homey touch to any room and ready you for fall. Likewise, you can transform red, orange, and yellow plastic leaves into wreaths using a few simple home supplies like wire and glue. These make festive displays for your front door — or anywhere in your home — to welcome the new season. If you make a few extra pumpkins or wreaths, share them with your neighbors!
