Holiday Happenings Around Denver This Season

Pull out those bell-bedazzled sweaters and your coziest snowflake socks — the holidays are here! It’s one of our favorite times of year to make special memories with the ones we cherish most, both at Reunion and throughout the local community — festive events are happening all season long in the Mile High City. Read on for fun activity suggestions your whole family will love.

Holidays Close to Home

Bundle up for a visit with the guy in red and come on out for our annual Holiday event here at Reunion!  Join us on Saturday, December 4 from 9:00am-1:00pm at the Reunion Recreation Center for our COVID-safe Holiday Happenings. Dash through the parking lot in horse-drawn carriages, sip coffee or hot chocolate from the Reunion Coffee House, and visit with Santa — outside, so dress accordingly! Masks will be required and crafts will be available “grab-and-go” from local vendors to make sure everybody stays healthy and safe.

Deck the Halls

Show off your gorgeous Reunion home with all the trappings of the season. You can pick up delightful decorations with old-world charm at Christkindl market or supply kits at Chanukah Gear Pick-Up. Pre-order exclusive Chanukah ice cream — an olive oil-based treat with swirls of decadent homemade babka — or holiday-themed cookie decorating kits from Olive & Finch. Shop 16 blocks of local boutiques and nationally-acclaimed brands at Cherry Creek North’s Wanderland — and don’t forget the four weekends of food and gifts at Metro Denver Farmers’ Market Craft Show, or sustainable and locally-made items at Horseshoe Holiday Market to benefit Denver Urban Gardens.

Walking in A Winter Wonderland

During this special time of the year, connect with your family and community through the beauty of sharing light. View the new installations at Denver Zoo’s Zoo Lights to celebrate its 125th anniversary, or kick off the first of eight celebratory nights during Chanukah at the State Capitol. Find sparkling wonders throughout the city including Blossoms of Light at Botanic Gardens, Trail of Lights at Chatfield Farms, A Hudson Christmas at Hudson Gardens, Merry & Bright Light Show at Union Station, and Mile High Tree on 16th Street Mall. Experience light installations in the drive-through sensation of Christmas in Color or by playing Holiday Lights Mini-Golf at Adventure Golf in Westminster. The city feels so bright and magical no matter which way you turn!

Happy in a Million Ways

Find your seasonal joy at a special Denver event. Attend Home for the Holidays — described by the Denver Post as “the kind of old-school variety show no one puts on anymore” — or enjoy Cleo Parker Dance’s multicultural stories from around the world in Granny Dances to a Holiday Drum. All aboard! Your kiddos will love taking a ride on an authentic coal-fired steam locomotive at Colorado Railroad Museum’s Polar Express Train Ride. Rediscover simple joys at the Downtown Denver Ice Rink, enjoy 200K square feet of immersive outdoor entertainment at Luminova Holidays, or delight in interactive fun at Four Mile Historic Park’s December Delights.

We’d particularly like to note Cherry Creek’s Sensory Santa event, which is time set aside for individuals across all spectrums of special needs. They and their families are invited to a private photo session where extra care is taken to support the sensory, physical, and other developmental needs to make this a magical holiday experience for everyone.

Living in a beautiful city with so many holiday events can make your head spin — but rest assured that no matter the adventure you choose, you will be coming home to your wonderful life at Reunion. Call us today to find the forever home of your dreams!
