Colorado is home to one of the world’s most sought-after concert venues: the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre. While any Red Rocks concert from their summer slate will be a memorable way to spend a date or night out with friends, their Film on the Rocks 2022 is a perfect chance to show your kids a night under the stars. With films like The Greatest Showman and The Sandlot on the docket, everyone in your clan is sure to find something to enjoy. The best part? You can easily make a full day of your excursion to Morrison, starting by exploring the beautiful trails around Red Rocks before the start of the movie!
A more hands-on experience that we love is the Denver Art Museum. The museum offers free tickets for kiddos under 18 and is free for all on the first Saturday of each month. Fine art appreciation aside, the DAM is a fantastic family activity any day of the week thanks to a bevy of hands-on activities throughout the museum that allows kids to paint, draw, and explore their creativity. Denver Art Museum also offers events such as the Sensory Friendly Morning on June 12 which allows those with sensory sensitivities to engage with the museum in a safe and comfortable manner.
Another event that has us drooling is the Denver BBQ Fest, which is sure to be a hit for the foodies in your home. This festival brings legendary pitmasters from across the nation — including storied smoke sanctuaries like Texas and St. Louis — to serve award-winning BBQ to residents of the Mile High City. However, BBQ isn’t this festival’s only offering — attendees can also enjoy cold drinks, games, activities for the whole family, and detailed BBQ demonstrations that Dad is sure to love!
